Welcome to the course Managing in a Globalised Economy!

My name is Aurelius Rapozo and I will be your instructor for this course.

The very fact that you have chosen this elective, I think, is because, you have big plans! You might have recognised that there is a challenging opportunity in doing business at an international level after the completion of your studies. It could also be, the dynamics of the socioeconomic environment provoking you to take a closer look at the way how businesses cope in this highly volatile environment, demanding the scrutiny of two strategies – a corporate strategy versus a global one.

This challenging elective will ask of you to think differently. By making an inquiry of an appreciative kind you will essentially aim to gain the right knowledge of the business environment. This should give you the confidence to create the right leverage and pave the path for future business endeavours.

This elective will explore three main themes: Globalisation, SMEs and MNEs, and Strategic Partnerships!

In the lecture sessions, I will employ the acronym RACE:
R = RESPECT (ourselves and everything around us)
A = APPROACH (the quest for an optimistic attitude)
C = COLLABORATION (working together towards a predetermined goal), and
E = EXCELLENCE (not settling for mediocrity).

So, let me take this opportunity in inviting you to explore and unravel the interactive nature of this module for you to manage in a dynamic globalized economy in the future.

Truly,

AURELIUS RAPOZO
